What's the best way for a college student to travel to Asia for the summer?
I would like to visit either India, China, Japan, S Korea, or Taiwan... but I dont know if I should book through an agency, or just buy the flight ticket and hotel by myself and figure it out once I get there...

Check out the low cost airlines. They are very cheap and always have promo seats. GO on backpackers and meet different people and experience their culture as well as their traditions.

Cheapest way into mainland China is via Taiwan?
I've been looking at the flight costs and via Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, etc., Taiwan is the cheapest ($1032 vs. ~$1200 straight to Beijing)-- I'm on a student budget so trying to do this cheaply. But due to the tense relationships between the two, can a tourist such as me go to mainland China via Taiwan?

As long as you don't pass through Customs in Taiwan, I honestly doubt you'd have any problems at all.

Yup, people who use to make fun of him i was probably the only friend he had at our school he was school he stayed for about 3 weeks. Everyone made fun of his accent which everyone makes fun of mine too because I have a slight British accent/southern/German accent I from Germany so thats why I have the German accent and I was raised in the south. Anyhow he moved he was from Spain he was really cute but he moved away back to Spain :(.

first of all what is wrong with that KKK barbie, they're posting that everywhere. anyways yeahh i had guys from china, and brazil and philapines, and girls from Russia/Ukraine, Venezuela, and France. it's really cool, they're nice.

Yes, I've had lots. There was a Czechoslovakian guy and a Chinese girl freshmen year, a guy from Norway last year, and now there's 2 German guys and a Russian girl.

You don't say where you are from or where in the US you will be staying. Keep an open mind. Try looking online for any info about the area and school you will be attending. That may give you some idea.Good luck.

Currently I'm a third year high school student in the U.S. I 'm wondering what I should study in college to become an English teacher in China. What is the difference between TEFL and TESOL?

You will need to gain Associates Degree with TESOL/TEFL Certificate (the minimum allowed by the Ministry of Education) OR a B.A. degree in anything. Many schools prefer you have a B.A .degree. For general teaching in private buxibans, TOEFL certification, an education degree, teaching experience and not required if you hold a BA. Public schools often require an actual accredited teaching degree, though some private buxibans (private cram schools) out-source to public schools teachers who do not hold them. University teaching requires a Masters degree in a related field. Once in country, you'll need a copy of your actual diploma, legal working status (an ARC or Alien Resident Certificate) or a current visa with the option of extension, and come from one of six native-English speaking countries that are favored in Taiwan: Canada, The United States, The United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand or South Aftrica. You must also have no criminal record and be free of HIV. Overall, most schools are looking for someone who is light-hearted and gets along will with the students, and knows how to play some good games. See: games page. My girlfriend is a citizen of Taiwan, how can she immigrate to the US without marrying me?
She already came to the US on a 5 month student visa, but she doesn't want to be a full time student anymore, because she already has her degree. We looked into a B2 visa but that only would allow her to stay 6 months, and she couldn't work. I have heard the easiest way for her to get citizenship is if she married me, but we are both in our 20s I don't want to get married yet.
