What do you think about Taiwan!?
I am a senior high school student living in Taiwan !! I want got to know morre information from international view !! Do you think Taiwan is a country or not and what do u think about Taiwan !!? Thanks for your answer !!

I think that Taiwan (Republic of China) is much better than Mainland "people's republic of" China (quotes because it is a misnomer).

You know, I really don't understand how China can claim Taiwan like that. However, in the end, I don't think it will matter. Taiwan will most likely join China anyway in an effort to ride on the economic success.

I see Taiwan as what China should have done. I like the way they went ahead and followed the Chinese constitution after WWII instead of becoming communist a couple of years later. Like Hong Kong they prospered independent of China for decades. In the end I think that Taiwan will end up joining China with special allowences the way Hong Kong joined back after British rule in 1997. I would hate to see Taiwan any less than it is today. BTW I am an American

Taiwan, is certainly a country, and should stand up to the Chinese and fight to the death for its independence. And if the U.S. has any nuts, it will stand with Taiwan and fight too.

I think they should have held the Olympics in Taiwan. Taiwan is everything China should have become. During the Communist Revolution in China, the cream of the crop moved to Taiwan. Socialist countries around the world have helped China gain an obscene amount of unwarranted power which they have used for the most part on their own people. I hope the world gives Taiwan the respect it deserves for getting a clue about free markets before much of the rest of the world. Much of the rest of the world still hasn't gotten that clue.

From the international point of view, Taiwan is not a country. The Republic of China on Taiwan is not a country either. Obviously, Taiwan is not a part of the PRC, but at the same time it is not an independent and sovereign nation. For a simple overview, it is important to recognize that the ROC in Taiwan is (1) a subordinate occupying power, beginning Oct. 25, 1945, and (2) a government in exile, beginning mid-December 1949. Taiwan territory does not belong to the ROC.
