I want to marry a non-american Ph.D student... How?
Ok so we've been talking and want to marry. Here is the situation: She is here in Honolulu for 5 years, working towards her Ph.D. She already has her I-20 form, and has a scholarship. How would i go about the marriage process, and if/when we get married, would that affect her education/scholarship since she'd be an american citizen? could she return to taiwan to visit? Help XD

First of all, congratulations! Second - most PhD students aren't here on "scholarship", persay. They are funded by their universities. That's based on academic factors, and not usually on citizenship issues; but for details on how her marriage might affect her funding, she'll need to speak directly to her PhD program adminstrators. I suspect it won't impact her funding at all, but again, she should ask. However, some foreign students are here, sponsored by their home governments. If this is her arrangement, then she'd need to speak directly with her gov't, and yes, getting married could mess that up. I am not a pro on visa issues when it comes to changing from one type of visa to another. The US State Department are the experts on this. You're going to need to address your questions to them. Start at their website. BTW, once she's an American citizen - officially, after you're married and etc. - she can return to Taiwan as she pleases, without a problem reentering the US. She'd be a citizen, same as you, and could enter the US just as you can. Once you're a citizen, you're a citizen. As an additional aside, you want to start documenting your relationship now, for the citizenship interviews after you're married. Take photos of the two of you together, for example.
