Student wants to go to Taiwan college?
if an American wants to go to Taiwan for college and doesn't have much money what does one do? please tell me about it. College is right around the corner for me

why? do you speak enough chinese to enter college? More like, do you read enough chinese to find out about colleges in Taiwan? If you don't, just give it up.

why do you want to study there? the degree you get in a taiwanese college is not recognised in many places. also, college in taiwan is pretty strange. they even have a faculty for magic. !?!?!?!?!?! uhh, yeah, it's just strange. i dont think the degree in magic would brighten the prospects of getting a magic gig at a club or something.

You could take up a job at places that teach english (marking work, doing something that's part time) there are loads of language learning centers aimed at people from 3~80 (HUGE market), and they would all like to boast that they've got the most foreign teachers, like Kojen for example. You could always take a student loan and pay it back when you're earning money, the living costs in Taiwan are extremely low compared to the UK, and medical schools, being the most expensive, doesn't charge more than 6000US a year.
